  In September, many new students joined MKS. When they first met, they were not familiar with each other. For this reason, teachers chose "Who are we" as the first inquiry theme of the semester. Be yourself, understand others, and help children integrate into MKS as soon as possible through a wealth of activities.

  Teachers discuss the content of the course twice a week for teaching and research, generate preset courses and teaching plans, and adjust them in a timely manner based on the children's learning situation. At the same time, teachers will reflect on the teaching and life activities every day after the children leave the kindergarten. After nearly 8 weeks of inquiry and learning, the children have achieved certain results. Let's take a look!

  Self - Portrait

  Children use different colors and materials to create their self-portraits. In their eyes, shells will become ears, and colorful wooden clips will become noses. They can learn more about themselves through diverse and rich exploration!
  During the course, we thought “wouldn’t it make for a beautiful picture if we could express the children’s vibrant body movements”! The children also liked this proposal very much. So, each child did their favourite pose and also depicted their favorite things in their own style! Very interesting!

  Self-introduction 

  Know yourself better and present yourself more elegantly! On this day, the children were very confident to introduce themselves in English! Let's enjoy it!
  We explored issues to do with family members, family relationships, family structure, and the responsibilities of family members.
  We used mind maps to present family members and their relationships to children, and combine their family portraits. Our children paired each family member one by one! This way, they understand the relationships within families.

  In the process of exploration, children often tell where their home is and what is in the home. Therefore, we use a large cardboard box to invite the children to make a smaller version of their home.

  For children, the most challenging thing is to explore the responsibilities of family members. How do they understand what responsibility is? How do they know their respective responsibilities? Cleverly, we played the role of parents to create the experience of doing housework, budgeting, respect to elders and supporting children. Then, the children return to being themselves and summarize that their responsibility is to do what they can and express gratitude. With the deepening of the theme, the children also have a lot of things they want to say to their parents. We will record them and broadcast them for everyone to watch on the day of the exhibition!

  The children told the teacher that they would sing "Listen to me saying thank you". They sang it before to their mothers. After this communication between teachers and children, it was decided that the children would make this song into a dance show for mom and dad! The children happily agreed and began to rehearse. On the day of the exhibition, mothers and teachers were moved to tears because of the children's dance and love!
  As a guide, we want the children to better understand what it means to be part of a family. We chose the picture book "Swimmy" to let the children experience the scene of family unity and, in the end, defeat the shark through the picture book, and let the children understand the importance of family through drama.

  In the career exploration part, the teacher asked parents to record their office space and make a video for the children to watch, so that the children could learn about the careers of different family members. When different professions were introduced, the children became curious about firefighters. In order to further explore this profession, the children raised questions such as "What are the dangers faced by firefighters, how can the family support them?" "Which are urban firefighting tools and which are forest firefighting tools?" and other questions. We went on a trip to the fire station with the children to observe the tools, clothing, life, etc. of fire fighting at the place where it really happens! The children marveled at being a firefighter, it’s really an amazing job to have!

  Back at school, the teacher asked the children, what kind of career do they want to choose in the future based on the occupations of their parents and other occupations they already know about? The topic of "time capsule" came up!

  I want to be a pilot. I want to be an artist.

  “I want to be a pilot”. “I want to be an artist”. Children project their dream career on drawing paper and store it in a time capsule, hanging it on the wishing tree so that when they open it in the future they will see how they have grown!

  Finally, the children and the teachers started discussions based on the results of the exhibition. They selected content, selected exhibition boards, and displayed the works of the exhibition together. On the day of the Achievement Exhibition, the children led their parents to visit their exhibited works, exchanged what they had learned, and the teacher assisted in informing about the inspiration and expression of the children's creations!

  Pleasant time is always short, and we successfully concluded this achievement exhibition accompanied by singing! Know how to care, have the courage to try, actively explore, reflect in good time and other goals will continue to guide everyone to grow together!
