MKS international kindergarten is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality,challenging, international education that MKS international kindergarten believes is important for our students.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) aims to provide children with a transdisciplinary curriculum that ensures a comprehensive integration of thoughts, knowledge, skills, and action. By integrating various subjects into a coherent framework while preserving their individual characteristics, the PYP fosters teaching and learning methods based on inquiry and key concepts. It includes guidance on different student learning styles, teaching methods, and assessment techniques to support them in becoming successful lifelong learners. Students are encouraged to participate in shaping their own learning experiences and are inspired to hypothesize, reflect, inquire, and experiment to construct their understanding and expand their knowledge base.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

IB PYP Transdisciplinary Learning

IB respects every child's personality and experiences, and encourages children to learn in games and explore in experiments.
MKS International Kindergarten has a systematic curriculum for young children called IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). This curriculum breaks the borders of traditional subject learning, uses inquiry method to conduct transdisciplinary learning, and promotes children's holistic development.
Through exploring six transdisciplinary themes, children developed their unique conceptual understanding, learned extracurricular skills, and expanded their knowledge. IB aims to cultivate communicative, open-minded, caring, inquiring, knowledgable, balanced, risk-taking, principled, thoughtful, and reflective life-long learners.

STEM

STEM is the collection of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Teachers at MKS design activities and motivate children's interest through children's curiosity and what children knew. Teachers use English, task-based, and inquiry learning method to guide children to observe, explore, and think critically so that they can learn to doubt and solve problem by themselves.

Lego Course

The Lego course focuses on children's manipulative skills and thinking skills. Children enjoy compelling, life-related, challenging, and interesting Lego activities through a mature system.

Aesthetics Course

At MKS, children can learn the history and cultural background through music, dance, and art works. Children use English to experience feelings and emotions and explore diverse materials, colors, and structure delivered through the aesthetics course.

Physical Education

The MKS professional teaching crew guides children to practice gross motor skills, self protection, environment adaption, positive attitudes, and courage.

Music & Dance Course

The Music and Dance courses are an important means of holistic education. Orff music workshop allows children to be immersed into the world of music, use body gestures, language, and instruments to express their inner voice. The MKS age-appropriate dance course emphasizes children's posture, dancing skills, and singing skills so that children can respond to emotions and express their own emotions.

Drama

MKS Drama Course respects the nature of children and utilizes drama as a means for children to express themselves and an artistic symbol for children to reflect and learn about the world. Using original and real-world related script design, MKS plans age-appropriate activities for children in different age groups to cultivate open-minded, cooperative, and creative young artists.

Featured Field Trips

MKS lays emphasis on the connection of class materials and real-life experiences. Through field trips, children are able to explore their potential, practice their creativity, and demonstrate their cooperative spirit.
